Lowe’s Is Betting on AI To Drive Customer Experience, Optimize Multiple Processes
Organizations need a leader who is wholly responsible and ultimately accountable for driving digital business transformation: the Chief Digital Officer (CDO). This executive reports directly to the CEO and bridges the gap between marketing and IT at a corporate level, rather than report into either existing function. Why? The CDO needs to maintain focus above the legacy responsibilities of marketing communications and enterprise technology architecture. Current c-suite residents may argue that a CDO would be assisted by the guidance and patronage of a more established department; however, the organization needs an unencumbered leader to drive a digital-first mindset into business units and all the way to the front lines of retail and customer service. A properly chartered CDO should have responsibility for formulating digital business strategy, activating operational initiatives, and managing the organization's transition. Constellation believes that digital will be infused at all role levels over time. However at this point in time, a CDO is key to championing digital and infusing a digital DNA across the organization. Other roles that will be influenced by digital or may step up in a digital role include the CIO, CMO, CTO, and COO.
Tesla reported production and delivery numbers and missed analysts estimates of 504,770 units delivered versus 495,570 estimated for the fourth quarter of 2024. This was the first ever drop in delivery numbers reported by the EV pioneer. While 9200 may not seem like a lot, the market perception of demand based on delivery numbers led to a 7% drop in stock price for the first day of trading in 2025.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) hosted over 70,000 attendees at its 13th annual reinvent conference in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 2nd to 6th, 2024. Since its humble beginnings in 2012 when there were 6,000 attendees, this event has been on the must-attend list developer and innovation focused business and technology leaders. After losing three years of momentum, AWS finally found the right replacement for Andy Jassy with Matt Garman as the new AWS CEO. This year’s announcements showcase significant product investments that will provide a stronger roadmap of how AWS will support AI startups and enterprises moving fast into AI. Overall, announcements from reinvent reflect a deep customer understanding.
Expect Regulations For National Security, But Overall Lighter Regulatory Framework
For the most part, tech has done well regardless of presidential administrations due to the light regulation of the overall industry. This has allowed large digital giants to emerge and dominate global markets across a multitude of industries. Amidst a national security backdrop and increasing capital required in the tech arms race, government has been hesitant to over regulate.
John Kreul, Chief Information Officer at Jewelers Mutual, said the company's AI experiments and investments will revolve around personalizing customer experiences. Kreul also said the company is building a data strategy and architecture that can adapt to new technologies.
