Goutam’s executive career has been focused on leveraging new and existing technologies to deliver business value, boost revenue generation, and improve customer relationships in rapidly changing industries.

Goutam Kundu was appointed Chief Information Officer of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) in June 2013. As CIO for the two-airports system of the nation’s capital, he is responsible for all aspects of the Airports Authority’s technology strategy, infrastructure, systems, processes, and services. At his continued tenure at the Airports Authority, Goutam has led the team in consolidating technology footprint, reinvesting in innovation, and implementing key technology approaches that enable strategic differentiation. Goutam is the founder of MWAA Labs, the award-winning in-house technology innovations think tank that has built a strong portfolio of innovative airport solutions and passenger-centric technologies. Current product portfolio includes the veriScan biometric traveler verification system (www.airportveriscan .com), which is being deployed by over 38 airlines and 5 airports with over one million passengers processed.

Prior to his appointment with the Airports Authority, Goutam held executive leadership roles at the U.S. Mint, the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, Farm Bureau Insurance, and NIIT Technologies. Goutam earned a master’s degree in business administration from Indiana University Kelley School of Business and received his bachelor’s degree in computer science and technology from the University of Calcutta.
