The Differences Between Cloud ERP and Hosted ERP and Why They Matter
Market acceptance of cloud applications, otherwise known as software-as-a-service (SaaS), is growing, and it is now storming the last fortress of on-premises applications – ERP. However, traditional ERP vendors are varied in their responses to this new threat, with some of them offering up hosted ERP as an alternative to cloud ERP. While hosted ERP does not deliver all of the benefits of SaaS, many buyers do not fully appreciate these differences, making it difficult for organizations to accurately assess each offering. Since both cloud and hosted ERP have some overlapping benefits, customers and prospects should carefully consider their options and ensure that whatever solution they choose will deliver the business value they expect.
