The Problem: 

The world’s third-largest private employer, G4S sought to increase candidate engagement and speed up its application process. G4S employs more than 51,000 employees in the U.S. alone, hiring an average of 25,000 employees a year for its private security side. As a very large company with locations across the states and around the world, with specific contract requirements by client, G4S needed a solution that could support and streamline its recruiting operations.

The Solution: 

The solution entailed the configuration of pre-hire workflows along with respective text and email-based reminders to maximize application job completions and minimize candidate interview ghosting. To maximize the capture of applicants across all recruitment marketing channels, both text-to-apply and career page web chatbot were implemented. G4S expanded the utilization of AllyO’s Conversational AI beyond recruiting with the execution of new hire retention workflows every 5, 10, and 30-days; employee engagement outreach campaigns; and uniquely, a Florida safety survey during hurricane season. The solution included integrating AllyO with the G4S applicant tracking system, eliminating manual data entry errors and duplicate tasks done by the recruiting team.

The Results: 

After starting small, G4S quickly scaled its relationship with AllyO to over 90 percent of their locations throughout the U.S. Almost immediately G4S saw an increase in applicant flow that led to faster engagement and a more accessible application process resulting in a reduction in sourcing costs and a higher volume of quality candidates.


G4S increased applicants nationwide by 1.2 X, while improving conversion rates for AllyO candidates by 25 percent. Given the increased applicant flow, sourcing costs were reduced.

The Technology: 

Understanding the G4S recruiting process, AllyO prioritized the following:

Disruptive Factor: 

G4S noted a challenge in the number of administrative staff handling a large number of applicants on any given day. By integrating AllyO with the G4S ATS, the solution made it easier for hiring teams to reap benefits without changing process or adding team members.

Shining Moment: 

In 2018, G4S leveraged AllyO to distribute a company message to all the G4S employees affected by Hurricane Michael, the first Category 5 storm to strike the contiguous United States since 1992. Within two hours, 30 percent of those employees responded, allowing G4S to rapidly deploy disaster relief.
