Jonathan Reichental
Founder of Human Future & Author

Dr. Jonathan Reichental is the founder of Human Future, a global business and technology advisory, investment, and education firm. Previous roles have included senior software engineering manager, director of technology innovation, and he has served as chief information officer at both O’Reilly Media and the City of Palo Alto, California.

In 2013 he was recognized as one of the 25 doers, dreamers, and drivers in government in America. In 2016, he was named a top influential CIO in the United States and in 2017, he was named one of the top 100 CIOs in the world. He has also won a best CIO in Silicon Valley award and a national IT leadership prize.

Reichental is a recognized global thought leader on a number of emerging trends including urban innovation, smart cities, sustainability, blockchain technology, data governance, the fourth industrial revolution, and digital transformation.

Brett Hoffstadt

Brett Hoffstadt has a unique fusion of a technical and creative background with achievements in aeronautical engineering, project management, corporate innovation initiatives, and music composing. As a project manager and “intrapreneur” within Boeing, he organized a “Shark Tank” style event with executives as “sharks” to hear employee pitches for new business ideas. He also collaborated with two other employees to establish the company’s first internal crowdfunding process and platform. His first book, published in 2014, was How To Be a Rocket Scientist. He also wrote the authoritative book on using drones in civil engineering. He has become most passionate about creating children’s books on helpful STEM and STEAM topics, as evidenced by his partnership with Jonathan Reichental to create Smart Cities Activity Book for Kids. His upcoming book Goodnight Moon Base is scheduled to be released in November 2021.
