Dr. Alexei Marchenkov is the Founder and CEO of Bleximo Corp. His career spans a diverse range of leadership roles, from starting and funding a university research group and startups to advising technology companies, designing and deploying research and prototyping facilities. In these roles, he has overseen new product and technology development, finance, human resources and recruiting, legal, and operations.
Alexei is a physicist and his research focused on quantum behavior in materials and nanoscale structures, including graphene, atomic-sized superconducting wires and contacts, and superconducting quantum circuits. He received his PhD in Physics from Leiden University, the Netherlands. After a postdoctoral appointment at the University of California, Berkeley, Alexei was an Assistant and Associate Professor of Physics at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta (USA). In 2004, he received the US National Science Foundation’s Early Career Development (CAREER) Fellowship. In Februrary 2017, he founded Bleximo Corp. The company is based in Berkeley, California, and is a venture-capital-backed startup that builds application-specific full-stack superconducting quantum computing systems.
