Marci Harris is co-founder and CEO of POPVOX a platform for legislative information, civic engagement, and tools for policymakers. A former Congressional staffer and lawyer, Marci says that her “first startup was a town,” as she led Jackson, TN’s rebuilding efforts following a 2003 tornado. In 2018, she led the People-Centered Internet's work on "Digital Puerto Rico" policy recommendations for the island's Recovery Plan.

 

She serves on the boards of PCI and LaunchTN and is an advisor to VoteRunLead and theCO in Jackson, Tennessee. She was named a Fast Company Top 100 Most Creative People in Business (2012), received a Tribeca Film Festival Award for Creative Disruption (2012), and was listed as a DC “Tech Titans” by Washingtonian (2013). She was an inaugural Technology and Democracy Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School's Ash Center (2016) and New America California fellow (2017).

 

Marci holds a B.A. in International Relations from Franklin University in Lugano, Switzerland; a J.D from the University of Memphis; and an LL.M. from the American University Washington College of Law. She worked in the U.S. House of Representatives covering tax, trade, and health for a senior Ways and Means member and staffed the committee on program integrity and physician payment transparency for the Affordable Care Act.
