Santhosh Jayaram is currently Global Head - Sustainability at HCL Technologies Limited. In this role he helps strategize and integrate sustainable value creation not just inside HCL but to all its stakeholders. He beleives that the convergence of digitalization and sustainability is critical to the sustainable future.

In his previous role with KPMG he lead one of the biggest sustainability consulting teams in Asia. Has worked across 20 countries and multiple sectors in the space of sustainability and climate change. He is also a fellow with Institute of Directors, India.

After Graduating in Mechanical Engineering (Calicut University) he did his Masters in Environmental Science and Engineering (IIT Mumbai). In 2010 he completed a course covering sustainable technologies from University of California, Berkeley Campus,

His expertise in the area has been sought in developing standards in the sustainability space. He has functioned as a member of the technical committee for the development of the international Stakeholder Engagement Standard - AA1000SES and also as a member of the GRI G4 working group on Application Level. He was a member of the technical committee on Social Stock Exchange set up by SEBI. He also contributed to the development of the Sustainable Finance Taxonomy for India being part of the task force set up by Ministry of Finance, Government of India. He is currently on the ESG advisory committee set up by SEBI.

Some of his work with clients are case studies with leading institutes like Harvard and INSEAD.

He regularly writes and speaks in national media. He has a passion for teaching and has conducted classes in leading educational institutions in India.

His other interests include Nature Photography and creating awareness of the nature around us. He also paints occasionally.

He has functioned as an independent director of board and chair for standards committee for Consortium of Humanitarian Agencies in Sri Lanka (2006 to 2008), a consortium of NGO’s. He is on the board of Trustea.
