Quentin Roach is Chief Procurement Officer & Senior Vice President – Global Supplier Management Group and Global Workplace & Enterprise Services for Merck & Co., Inc. where he is responsible for oversight of companywide expenditures; leadership of contract manufacturing operations; integration of M&A, JV & alliance management activities; enterprise externalization strategies; and productivity & working capital improvement initiatives. He oversees the company’s Economic Inclusion & Supplier Diversity processes which are focused on ensuring an inclusive environment for the engagement of diverse and small businesses. He also serves as executive sponsor of Merck’s Next Generation Network – focused on making Merck the employer of choice for the next generation of employees.

Prior to joining Merck, he served as a catalyst for positive transformation, innovation and growth through senior level executive positions in Sale & Marketing, Sourcing & Procurement, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering in healthcare, pharmaceutical, consumer product, medical device, academia and automotive industries with General Motors Corporation, Delphi Corporation, Strong Health/The University of Rochester, Bausch & Lomb, and Bristol Myers Squibb.

He currently serves on the board of directors for Armada, LLC and Liquid Biosciences, Inc. and has been involved in a number of organizations/boards, including: the National Association of Manufacturers, the Executive Leadership Council, SCM World – a Gartner Company, United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Columbia University’s Deming Center, Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey College of Business, the National Black MBA Association, The Garth Fagan Dance Company and is a member of The Center for Youth Services advisory board.

He has been recognized as a “Top 10 Most Inspiring Leader” by Executive 50, “Top 100 Most Influential Blacks in Corporate America” by Savoy, and “Top 100 Global Ethnic Minority Leaders” by The Financial Times. He is also a past recipient of the Rochester Business Journal’s "40 Under Forty". Quentin holds a Master of Science in Engineering Management of Technology from Arizona State University, a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and has completed executive development work at Columbia University, Thunderbird University and Trinity College – Dublin.
