Chris Stephens is Vice President of Data Technology at American Eagle Outfitters. Chris is responsible for all data engineering, analytics, data science and reporting for the $4B global fashion retailer. Centered on the customer journey, Chris leads a user-centered approach combining design-thinking with machine learning. Chris and team help customers feel their best, empower young women and celebrate the power of youth through authentic experiences. Chris and team deliver value for AEO by caring for individuals, their privacy and their individualized expressions with American Eagle and Aerie. Chris began his career before we called people Data Scientists. He led Product teams at SAS and a Global Data Science Field Operation for Pivotal before joining AEO. He and his wife have 5 kids (all teenagers and AEO customers).His kids began paying attention to his career in Nov 2017 when he joined AEO.
