Mr. John Carmack currently serves as Chief Technology Officer at Oculus, focusing primarily on mobile devices including the newly introduced Oculus Go. Mr. Carmack co-founded Id Software and defined the first person shooter with Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, and Quake. In between, he built rockets at Armadillo Aerospace. He was inducted into the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences’ Hall of Fame in 2001, awarded two Emmy® awards for his work in graphics technology in 2006 and 2007, received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the GDC in 2010 and was honored with a BAFTA Fellowship in 2016.
