Eric has served as our Chief Algorithms Officer since 2012. From 2009 to 2012, Eric served as the Vice President of Data Science and Engineering at Netflix, Inc. From December 2006 to 2009, Mr. Colson served in various roles of increasing responsibility on the data science and data engineering teams at Netflix. Prior to joining Netflix, Eric served in senior data science roles at Yahoo!, Blue Martini Software, a software and professional services provider, and Proxicom, a developer of interactive and internet-enabled solutions. Eric holds a B.A. in Economics from San Francisco State University, an M.S. in Information Systems from Golden Gate University and an M.S. in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University.
Eric has been featured on Bloomberg, Forbes, The Economist, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. He’s a regular speaker at SXSW, Shoptalk, Strata and many industry events focused on data science.
