Julie Setser is a Senior Leader with 30 years of experience leading R&D and Innovation at Procter and Gamble.  In her current role as SVP of Digital Innovation Ecosystems, she leads the Company wide Digital Transformation of R&D.  In this role, Julie leverages her deep innovation expertise to ensure investments in digital platforms and capabilities enable transformational outcomes.  She is driving the culture transformation needed to ensure the Company’s R&D talent is capable and inspired to activate our data and models in new ways to deliver breakthrough innovation and is leading a comprehensive talent transformation to both upskill current employees and attract talent with the digital and data skills needed to work in a digital innovation environment.

Julie played a key role in shaping the Company’s innovation strategy, working with the Chief R&D and Innovation Officer and the Board to shape and activate the current Superiority strategy, gain commitment for investment in Disruptive Innovation and establish the role of Corporate Functions R&D to anticipate and activate future technology platforms for the long term health of the innovation pipeline.  

Julie drove a step change in the Company’s Disruptive Innovation portfolio and Corporate Entrepreneurship capability, leading to new product launches and a robust portfolio of disruptive innovations in every BU and in the Corporate Ventures organization.  She built and led a multifunctional Corporate team to serve the Business Units with training and services, enabling the creation of an Enterprise portfolio of over 100 new start-ups. P&G was honored by Fast Company as one of the 50 Best Companies for Innovators in 2019 and 2020 because of these innovation efforts.

Julie has lived and worked in the US, Latin America, Asia and Europe, and has managed the R&D portfolios in multiple business units including Hair Care, Fabric Care, Pet Care and Ventures. She is expert at building innovation capability and culture, creating and managing Category innovation strategies and portfolios, and leading complex, new to the world technology programs.  She is a valued partner to business leaders and collaborative contributor to multifunctional business teams.
