Sunny is Chief Compliance Officer at Health Plan of San Joaquin. Sunny has extensive senior executive experience in Medicaid (known as Medi-Cal in California), as well as Medicare and commercial health insurance. She is a widely respected leader in establishing internal controls to ensure health plan operations are compliant with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and regulatory requirements.
Cooper received her Bachelor of Sciences degree in radiologic technology (administration option), graduating Summa Cum Laude with Distinction from The Ohio State University. She went on to earn a Master of Health Sciences (MHS) degree in health finance and management from The Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, Maryland). Her extensive professional education has included the Executive Leadership Program (ELP) through the American Health Insurance Plan (AHIP), where she also earned the designation of Certified Health Insurance Executive (CHIE).
