Patrick K. Sullivan

Dr. Patrick K. Sullivan founded Oceanit in 1985 and still leads the Honolulu “Mind‑to‑Market” lab, which has grown to about 200 scientists and engineers delivering disruptive technologies from aerospace to life sciences. A scientist, engineer, and serial entrepreneur, he has attracted more than $650 million in research funding, spun out multiple venture firms, and served on national bodies such as the U.S. Navy’s Ocean Research Advisory Panel. Sullivan authored Intellectual Anarchy: The Art of Disruptive Innovation and co‑authored AI at War, underscoring his thought leadership at the nexus of innovation and defense. In 2024 he addressed the National Academies’ Army Science & Technology Roundtable for the second straight year, and Oceanit recently opened the H2XCEL hydrogen‑pipeline test facility in Houston to advance the global energy transition.(Oceanit, InnovationMap)
