SAP has agreed to not interfere with Celonis' data extractor for customer data until the litigation between the two companies has been resolved. In turn, Celonis has withdrawn its motion for a preliminary injunction.
As previously reported, the Celonis lawsuit against SAP is worth watching given agentic AI largely depends on enterprise technology vendors providing data access to other applications--and AI agents.
SAP said: "SAP rejects Celonis’s claims and continues to seek dismissal of the case. In the meantime, SAP has agreed to maintain the status quo with Celonis and avoid confusion for the benefit of SAP’s customers. SAP will continue to evaluate its IP rights and take action as appropriate."
In March, Celonis sued SAP in federal district court in San Francisco alleging that SAP used anticompetitive practices to thwart Celonis' process mining applications. SAP owns Signavio, a process mining tool that's often combined with the ERP giant's platform.
Celonis alleged that SAP is using its ERP dominance to block Celonis in the process mining market.
Under the agreement, SAP will enable Celonis customers to access their own SAP data without additional fees or licenses.
