Lloyds Banking Group is building its next-generation machine learning (ML) platform on Google Cloudâs Vertex AI in a move that will replace legacy systems.
Ranil Boteju, chief data and analytics officer at Lloyds Banking Group, says the companyâs previous ML and data science platform was on-premises and pushing a decade of use. âWe realized we needed to modernize and wanted to move to the public cloud and Vertex AI.â Lloyds completed the migration a year ago.
Boteju says the bankâs hundreds of data scientists are building models at scale. The move to Vertex AI is âquite a significant step up in capabilityâ but is enabling Lloyds to âpursue our agentic AI aspirations as well.â
