Google rolls out Gemini 4 Carbon

Google launched Gemini 4 Carbon, its strongest frontier model.

Gemini 4 Carbon builds on Gemini 4 Argon, which launched two weeks ago, and the takeaway is that Google is stepping up its frontier model release pace.

According to Google, Gemini 4 Carbon excels in cybersecurity and long-horizon projects. Google added that internal testing has Carbon performing better on generating secure code in production.

The company said Gemini 4 Carbon will be pre-released for model testing. Gemini 4 Carbon will be available to cyber defenders and then have expanded access via Google's Fairwind Program.

Google added that Carbon will be priced the same as Argon with an introductory price of $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens.
