Boomi adds data readiness, activation to its enterprise platform

Boomi has expanded the Boomi Enterprise Platform with a bevy of new data activation features. The launch was part of a broader move to be positioned as "The Data Activation Company."

With the move, Boomi is focusing on the semantic and contextual layer across systems and processes in addition to integration and orchestration of AI agents and applications.

CEO Steve Lucas said the focus on data activation will give AI agents grounding on business reality and help enterprises move from pilots to production. "AI only delivers value when data is properly activated, trusted and governed first," said Lucas. "Organizations don’t need more pilots, they need action-ready data."

Context and data activation have emerged as hot topics. The context layer is being separated from LLMs in the AI stack and multiple vendors see the most value there.

Boomi added the following to its platform:

• Boomi Meta Hub, which enables AI agents to be grounded in context. Boomi said it is building on its master data management and enterprise connectivity expertise to bring business logic and one source of the truth to AI agents.
• European Platform Instance, which is part of Boomi's plan to play in the EU Sovereign Cloud market. Boomi has an independent instance of its platform in EU.
• Boomi SAP Data Connector, which is a new effort to automate real-time data extraction and make SAP data available without custom development.
• Snowflake Cortex Agent governance within Boomi's Agent Control Tower. Boomi also has Agent Session Logs to provide observability of agent workflows. Boomi's Agent Control Tower tracks latency, errors and token consumption to oversee AI agent workers.

Add it up and the Boomi expansion creates an enterprise platform that includes integration and automation, data management, agent management and API management.
