Executive Summary
The AI hype cycle is in full swing, and all vendors across the stack are trying to get a slice of the AI budget. Just as cloud washing turned everything in tech into a cloud offering, now everything is being labeled as an AI offering. This has, of course, spilled into the consumer realm as well, as washing machines now have “AI cycles.”
And AI budgets are only going one way: upward. As vendors fight for market share, their marketing machines are in high gear, sometimes going beyond the reality of current products, sometimes trying to paint capabilities in a more favorable AI light. Constellation has labeled that effort “agentic AI washing.”[i] This report looks at a specific vendor, Oracle, and uses the criteria published in Constellation’s “Agentic AI Washing Is Real” report to assess its capabilities. Obviously, Oracle has a large portfolio of offerings; this report focuses specifically on the Oracle AI Database portfolio, most prominently Oracle Multicloud AI Database, Autonomous AI Database, and Autonomous Lakehouse. As always, the report ends with tangible recommendations for CxOs.
Among all the vendors whose agentic AI offerings Constellation is regularly briefed on, Oracle stands out, with a unique, differentiated architecture that delivers on agentic AI capabilities across its Oracle AI Database portfolio in a differentiated and powerful way. The breadth and depth of Oracle’s production-ready functionality enable customers to build, deploy, and operationalize AI agents directly against their enterprise data—no AI washing necessary.
