UserTesting rebrands as Auros, aims to bring humans into AI experience

UserTesting said it will rebrand as Auros, which will aim to leverage its network of 7.6 million verified people to train, evaluate and improve AI experiences.

The company said that UserTesting and User Interviews will continue to be products in the portfolio. Those businesses will be part of an AI business that aims to improve AI-driven experiences.

Auros will invest in AI including verification infrastructure and participant network to complement its research and insights. Eric Johnson, CEO of Auros, said "as AI becomes more capable, access to real people and verified human expertise becomes more valuable, not less."

Here's what you need to know about the Auros rebrand and plan.

  • Half of web traffic now is automated and it's getting more difficult to distinguish between human and machine behavior and data. Auros is a bet that human specialists are needed to evaluate how those AI-based systems perform.
  • Auros said it will enhance its network of high-stakes experts in various industries.
  • Customers of UserTesting and User Interviews won't see disruptions.
  • Auros will not build the models or AI products it will evaluate. The logic is simple. The company grading the systems shouldn't be the builders.
