Palantir, Nebius forge sovereign AI, data pact
Palantir named Nebius its preferred sovereign AI infrastructure provider in a move that will bring more enterprise clients to the neocloud AI infrastructure provider.
Under the partnership, Palantir and Nebius will focus on sovereign data deployments for AI. The efforts will revolved around customizing open models and looped customer data.
When Palantir talks sovereign AI it is typically referring to enterprise data built on the company's Sovereign AI Operating System, built on AIP, Ontology, Foundry and Apollo. Palantir is leveraging Nvidia's Nemotron models for customization.

Key points about the Nebius deal:
- Palantir will bring Nebius compute and inference endpoints inside its enterprise parameter.
- Palantir customers will then be able to access Nebius infrastructure.
- The two companies will collaborate on accelerating the deployment of new compute capacity including modular data center deployments.
- Nebius will get exposure to Palantir's broad enterprise customer base.
Nebius CEO Arkady Volozh outlined the Palantir deal speaking at a Goldman Sachs investor conference. He said:
"Companies have a choice. They can go to commercial models and start feeding their data back to them and improve their models or they can actually use open source, open-weight model on their own -- under their own control, feed data to these models. Keep improving these models for themselves, not sharing that data with the whole world. And actually, the practice shows that if you do this with generally open-weight models are lower quality than commercial models. But commercial models are very universal, very expensive. Open-weight models could be trained with this data in repetitive loops.
This is what Palantir, NVIDIA and we see as the vision as the main mechanism, how enterprises should be using their AI. Palantir has instruments to create this loop, open models, data back and forth, but they need infrastructure on which it could be run. And they used to use hyperscalers for that, sending data there. Their clients don't like it because, again, their data is shared with everyone.
They needed a controlled stack which could run open-weight models to cloud to racks and the data centers. Palantir can control the whole stack. We provide this and the synergy is that we provide this whole stack up to our token factory, where we run a variety of different open models."
