About This Constellation ShortList™
NoSQL stores (including document stores, key-value stores and column stores) that are available as software can be run on premises or in private clouds. Software can also be deployed and run on cloud infrastructure services, but that approach doesn’t deliver the same agility, simplicity and administrative savings as a NoSQL cloud service.
This Constellation ShortList presents Constellation’s pick of NoSQL stores that are available both as software and as services across leading public clouds. The combination gives you the best advantages of cloud computing while avoiding lock-in and fostering hybrid-deployment and cloud portability. There have been no changes to this Constellation Shortlist since its Q1 2018 publication.
Threshold Criteria
Constellation considers the following criteria for these solutions:
- Available as software for on-premises or hybrid-cloud deployment
- Available as a cloud service on multiple majorpublic clouds
- Cloud services are supported by the cloud provider or NoSQL store software provider
