Cognizant buys Astreya, eyes AI infrastructure services

Published April 29, 2026

Cognizant said it will acquire Astreya, which specializes in AI infrastructure and data center services.

Terms of the deal weren't disclosed. Cognizant said the acquisition is designed to expand its AI builder technology stack.

Astreya will bring AI infrastructure services to Cognizant and also give it a stronger foundation for its own AI efforts. Astreya operates in 35 countries and has managed services relationships with most hyperscalers.

Cognizant said Astreya features an AI OpsHub platform, which has modules for readiness assessment, signal intelligence, analytics and automation. Astreya has strong partnerships with Google Cloud and ServiceNow.

Ravi Kumar, CEO of Cognizant, said the company is looking to address the AI data center boom. "By acquiring Astreya and its proprietary AI tooling and production-grade infrastructure platform, which is complementary to Cognizant's AI builder stack, we will be even better-positioned to help clients architect their platform-led AI systems and operationalize them at scale," said Kumar.

Cognizant's strategy is to become more of an AI builder where it can operationalize AI infrastructure for clients and drive value. Astreya will add AI operations tools as well as talent.

The deal is expected to close in the second quarter.
