Clinical, Research, and Innovation: Dr. Jeffers has focused her clinical practice on aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery, as well as noninvasive and minimally-invasive rejuvenation. However, she has had a long-standing interest in innovation and technology. She has lectured on Big Data, EHR’s, disruptive technology in healthcare, written a textbook chapter on Digital Health in Plastic Surgery, beta-tested for companies, and is involved in a countywide Start-Up Weekend. She initiated efforts during her presidential term at ASPS to create the ASPS/MTI Accelerator, the first plastic surgery-centered accelerator. More traditionally, she participated in the Mentor Adjunct Study, the Mentor Post Approval Study, the Sientra Silicone Gel Large volume study, the Breast Reconstruction and Augmentation with the BRAVA enhanced autologous Fat Micro Grafting, and the ASPS SPAR Multicenter Trial. Until recently, she served as the Medical Monitor for the US Post Approval Study for Sientra.

Leadership, Health Policy, and Advocacy: Dr. Jeffers has been active in organized medicine and leadership development at the local, state, and national level, serving on the Board of two national specialty societies and one state specialty society. She served as the President of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons from 2019-2021 during the COVID-19 crisis. As Chair of the Leadership Development Committee, she was instrumental in the creation of a national Leadership Development Program. As one of 11 members on the American Medical Association's Council on Medical Service, and later Chair, she helped to craft national policy proposals and reports regarding socioeconomic issues in medicine. Elected by her peers, she currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the American Medical Association. Dr. Jeffers's leadership has been recognized by her receipt of national, regional, and local awards for leadership, innovation, health policy and advocacy, patient care, and research.
