Background check provider SterlingBackcheck serves more than 20,000 customers around the world, including 25 percent of the Fortune 500, and enjoys a 92 percent client retention rate. 

Success often leads to challenges, however, and SterlingBackcheck’s experience was no different. It had been using a mix of internally developed and open-source integration tools to automate transactions with customers. This process was expensive, difficult and often wasteful, as the level of customization involved meant many efforts were one-offs. It also tied up SterlingBackcheck’s engineers when they could have been working on more valuable projects.

SterlingBackcheck decided to adopt a platform approach to data integration. It evaluated a number of vendors and ended up choosing SnapLogic. Using the platform shrank the process of building integrations from months down to weeks, and customer onboarding to days. In addition, a dozen engineers were able to be repurposed to other projects. 

The key outcome for SterlingBackcheck was an integration strategy providing added value, rather than being a cost center and general headache.
