Bio
Dr. Gavin Michael has been Head of Technology for Global Consumer Banking at Citigroup Inc since August 25, 2016.
Dr. Michael served as Head of Digital for Consumer and Community Banking Division at JPMorgan Chase & Co. since April 18, 2013. Dr. Michael served as the Chief Technology Innovation Officer of Accenture Plc since July 1, 2011. He drove Accenture's innovation and ecosystem agenda, including its technology vision, R&D agenda with technology alliances and the Accenture Technology Labs, and alliances strategy and execution. He also ked the Accenture Global CIO Council and its High Performance IT program, as well as Accenture’s technology research and thought leadership programs. He served as Global Managing Director, R&D and Alliances at Accenture plc since July 2010. In this role, he reinforced long-standing commitment to help clients leverage innovative technology solutions and strategic alliances to improve business and achieve higher performance. His responsibilities included directing Accenture Technology Labs and overseeing the alliances Accenture maintains with the major technology hardware, software, and services vendors. He was also responsible for an ongoing research program conducted by Accenture that seeks to identify the characteristics of high performing businesses and organizations.
At Lloyds Banking Group, he served as IT director for its retail banking business. He held senior technology roles at IBM. Prior to Lloyds, he served as Head of Strategy and Architecture at National Australia Bank. He served as a Director of Avanade, Inc.
Gavi was named 2016 â Digital Banker of the Year by American Banker, Mr. Michael had responsibility for the technology and engineering teams as well as Customer Experience and Design, Product and Payments, Platform and Delivery, Data Intelligence and Data Analytics.
Dr. Michael holds a Doctorate in Computer Science from The Australian National University.
