Bio

Christopher Desautel has more than 20 years’ experience delivering innovative information and technology solutions to enable companies to grow, reduce cost, delight customers and achieve competitive advantage. He has expertise in IT strategy, business process re-engineering, mergers and acquisitions, cloud computing, as well as technology implementations in e-business, insurance, ERP, supply chain, sales and marketing, and business intelligence. Mr. Desautel joined Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies as VP and CIO in July of 2013. As a member of the senior leadership team, he is responsible for leading the information technology group and establishing and implementing the IT strategy for the organization. Prior to BHHC, Desautel held various leadership positions including SVP and CIO at SeaBright Holdings, VP of IT at Safeco and global IT executive at Delphi. Mr. Desautel began his career as a management consultant with Andersen and Deloitte Consulting where he worked with Fortune 500 companies to implement IT and business improvement programs. He holds a bachelor of science in engineering with a concentration in operations management from Michigan State University.
