Sabra Schneider
Sabra Schneider serves as the Chief Information Officer for the City of Bellevue, Washington. Under her leadership, Bellevue consistently ranks among the top five digital cities in the United States. She also serves on the board of the GovAI Coalition, supporting the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence in the public sector through shared resources, standards, and advocacy.
Ms. Schneider has more than twenty years of experience in government, with a career focused on innovation, communications, technology, and transparency. She is dedicated to advancing technology that strengthens community services, improves operational efficiency, and builds public engagement and trust.
Before joining the City of Bellevue, she led digital communications for the City of Seattle and oversaw web, social media, digital communications, and open data programs for King County, Washington. Earlier in her career, she served as a faculty member at South Seattle College, teaching computing and communications, and was an adjunct professor at the Evans School of Public Affairs at the University of Washington.
Ms. Schneider has received numerous professional honors throughout her career, including a Top 25 Doer, Dreamer, and Driver award from Government Technology, a Seattle ORBIE Award from Inspire CIO, and the Dan Evans Teaching and Innovation Award from Seattle Colleges. Teams under her leadership have earned more than twenty‑five national awards in civic technology, innovation, customer service and digital transformation. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Washington.
