Mary Beth Green
Mary Beth Green is an enterprise transformation operator who builds what is next inside companies that run on what works today. Her work sits where enterprise operating leadership, complex transformation, and board-level governance of AI converge.
Most recently she was Chief Innovation Officer at Sheetz, a $14 billion, 25,000-employee family-owned enterprise. She built the innovation function from zero, stood up the company's first venture studio, formed and co-chaired its first Strategic Investment Committee, and led the build and opened the Pittsburgh technology hub scaling from one employee to 70, including 40 technologists. Ten ventures reached the market with paying customers, each under her go/no-go authority. Revenue roughly doubled during her tenure, and the company was named to Fortune and Statista's America's Most Innovative Companies list in 2025.
Earlier, she commercialized clinically validated machine learning at Philips Healthcare, where an AI sleep scoring system cut specialist scoring time by 50 to 85 percent. She was a key contributor to CombineNet's growth from under $1 million to $16 million in annual recurring revenue, including a Procter & Gamble program whose $294.8 million in documented savings was published in INFORMS Interfaces, a peer-reviewed journal. At Bayer she led US customer master data architecture for a $1 billion global SAP transformation. She has guided more than 400 startups and advised more than 200 ventures.
Her view on AI: the model is rarely the constraint. Programs stall at the decision table, where companies fund demos instead of decisions.
She serves on the inaugural HAIL advisory board for AI and data science at the University of Pittsburgh and on the board of 412 Food Rescue. Carnegie Mellon's Tepper School named her its 2025 Alumna of the Year, and the Pittsburgh Business Times named her a 2023 Women of Influence honoree. She holds an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University, a Master of Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh, and a BA in Economics from the University of Illinois.
