Christian Lindmark
Christian Lindmark is a seasoned healthcare technology executive and strategic leader serving as Vice President and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Stanford Health Care and the Stanford University School of Medicine for the past 10 years. With more than 25 years of experience in healthcare information technology, Christian is widely recognized for advancing digital transformation in complex health systems, enhancing technology resiliency, and improving both clinical and patient experiences through innovation and operational excellence.
In his current role, Christian leads enterprise-wide technology strategy across Stanford Health Care’s digital infrastructure. He is responsible for shaping and executing technology initiatives across clinical and biomedical engineering, identity and access management, infrastructure, and customer experience services. Under his leadership, Stanford Health Care has strengthened its multi-cloud strategies, consolidated data centers, and ensured reliability and resiliency of its core information systems.
Christian played a pivotal role in the digital strategy and technology implementation for the state-of-the-art new Stanford Hospital, which opened in 2019. His team designed and deployed an integrated technology backbone supporting tens of thousands of devices and hundreds of applications, enabling automation, efficient clinical workflows, and enhanced patient connectivity. The teams work on this project was recognized with a CIO 100 Award as well as a Gartner Eye on Innovation Award for the innovative use of technology to drive performance and patient care outcomes.
A forward-thinking leader, Christian is deeply engaged in emerging technology trends that have the potential to transform healthcare delivery. He is actively exploring advanced applications such as AI-augmented workflow tools and private 5G/CBRS networks to support clinical communications and remote monitoring, and cloud-based platforms that drive efficiency while maintaining robust security and compliance. His insights on these innovations are frequently shared in professional forums and industry discussions.
Christian’s leadership philosophy centers on collaboration, sustainability, and meaningful impact. At Stanford Health Care, he has championed sustainability efforts within the IT organization, focusing on data center efficiency, reduction of physical printing, and environmental benchmarking initiatives aligned with enterprise sustainability goals.
Beyond his professional contributions, Christian is committed to community engagement. He is based in the Seattle, Washington area, is married, and is a proud parent. Outside of his work in healthcare technology, he enjoys golfing and contributes his time to youth development, including serving on the board of a local chapter of First Tee, an organization dedicated to building character through golf.
