Currently a professor of management at the Lucerne School of Business, from 2016 to 2020 Martin was the founding managing director of the Swiss School of Public Governance at ETH Zurich. He has taught, studied, and worked at The Maxwell School of Syracuse University, Harvard University, Colorado College, IE Business School, and The African Leadership University. His writing and commentary have featured in multiple international publications including The New York Times, Forbes, Inc., the Chicago Tribune, Fast Company, Business Insider, and the BBC. Shawn Vanderhoven leads the executive development practice for senior leaders and rising talent at The Wiseman Group. He is the author of the forthcoming book Pause: How to Lead Brilliant Work in a Busy World, and a collaborator on the New York Times bestseller Multipliers: How the Best Leaders Make Everyone Smarter (Second Edition).

As a Partner at The Wiseman Group, Shawn co-designs executive development strategies that help leaders and managers amplify their organization’s most valuable asset—its people. He has partnered with leading brands around the globe, including Apple, Adobe, Capital One, Deloitte, HP, Microsoft, LinkedIn, Siemens, Vans, and Wells Fargo.

Prior to his work in leadership development, Shawn worked in business development, scaling his family’s software business 30-fold. He lives in Menlo Park, California, with his wife, Anne.
