Data to Decisions

The Problem

Proving the business impact of learning at enterprise scale is notoriously hard — and Thrive’s analytics infrastructure had become the greatest obstacle in helping their customers measure ROI. A team of just 5–7 people were manually maintaining 207 Power BI reports each month. They were forced to hand-edit desktop files and swap API keys customer by customer, making the process neither scalable nor profitable. Customers waited on SLAs just to access their own data, while engineering time that should have gone to product innovation was consumed by repetitive data processing work.

The Solution

Thrive identified the core issue as structural: engineering teams were optimizing for analytics instead of product. Evaluation criteria included AI-native architecture, seamless white-label embedding, enterprise-grade compliance out of the box, and a shared product vision. ThoughtSpot delivered on all four. Paired with Snowflake as their data foundation, ThoughtSpot powered the launch of Thrive Analyse from Proof of Concept to production in just 4 weeks, transforming reporting from an internal bottleneck into a customer-facing competitive advantage.

The results

Before ThoughtSpot, Thrive's analytics were a manual, customer-by-customer operation that drained engineering resources, frustrated customers, and created significant churn risk. Today, Thrive Analyse serves over 56,000 active users, has driven an 81% reduction in support tickets related to reporting, and has saved over £40,000 annually in licensing fees alone. The launch of Kiki, Thrive's AI agent powered by ThoughtSpot Spotter, took just three days to deploy and gave tens of thousands of users the ability to query their own data in plain English, eliminating the need for static dashboards entirely. Analytics has shifted from a product gap to a primary competitive advantage, with Thrive Analyse now a key driver in closing new enterprise deals and positioning Thrive as a strategic data partner to its customers.

Metrics

Scale: Thrive Analyse now serves over 56,000 active users querying more than 7 billion rows of data. Those users collectively spend 170,000 minutes per month analyzing data — not waiting for reports, not submitting tickets, not chasing their account manager. Just asking questions and getting answers. Efficiency: The 81% reduction in analytics-related support tickets is perhaps the starkest proof point. What was once a constant drain on both Thrive's team and its customers' patience has effectively been automated away. Cost: Shifting off legacy tooling saved Thrive over £40,000 per year in licensing fees alone — before accounting for the engineering hours recaptured and redirected to product development. Revenue: Thrive Analyse has become a competitive differentiator in enterprise sales cycles, with the product's data intelligence capabilities now cited as a key factor in closing new deals, and removing what was a significant barrier to customer renewals. Today, Thrive Analyse serves over 56,000 active users, has driven an 81% reduction in support tickets related to reporting, and has saved over £40,000 annually in licensing fees alone.

The Technology

>ThoughtSpot Embedded (TSE): Powers the customer-facing Thrive Analyse platform with white-label, AI-native embedded analytics >ThoughtSpot Spotter: Agentic AI layer enabling natural language querying >Snowflake: Central data lake and warehouse >Kiki (Thrive's proprietary AI agent): Intelligent conversational interface built on ThoughtSpot Spotter

Disruptive Factor

Thrive's biggest implementation challenge wasn't the technology — it was cultural: convincing enterprise customers to abandon the familiar comfort of static reports in favor of asking questions directly of their data. They did it anyway, and the results speak for themselves: 207 bespoke manual reports replaced by a single governed AI-native platform, deployed to 56,000 users in under six weeks, with agentic AI rolled out on top of that in just three days. While the rest of the EdTech industry is still emailing PDFs and managing report queues, Thrive has made real-time, natural language data access a standard feature of their product — not a premium add-on, not a roadmap item, not a proof of concept. That is the status quo challenge: Thrive didn't just improve how learning analytics works, they made every competitor's approach look like a decade-old problem waiting to be solved.

Shining Moment

What stands out most is how fundamentally Thrive Analyse has changed the day-to-day working lives of the managers and leaders using it. Before, compliance and learning oversight meant chasing employees, waiting on reports, and reacting to problems too late. Today, a frontline manager at one of Thrive's 500 global customers can ask a plain English question and instantly know which of their team members are overdue on critical training, turning a reactive administrative burden into a proactive leadership tool. *Vodafone achieved a 20% uplift in sales for new products and a 50% reduction in misinformation complaints. *Burger King realized a 20% reduction in employee turnover, with 66% of new leaders promoted internally. *Nando’s utilizes Thrive across 1,200 restaurants to keep front-line managers and deskless staff flawlessly compliant with food safety training. The shift from data as a bottleneck to data as a daily decision-making companion is what Thrive is most proud of delivering.
