The Problem

Meeting their HR technology needs involved many niche solutions and created a scattered technology landscape. That made maintenance and upgrades difficult, and it was impossible to unify information across their HR functions. After an award-winning implementation of Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM, they implemented Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI), where FDI enabled them to avoid costly integrations by using its intuitive user experience to present unified data and analytics.

The Solution

After Fusion HCM was live, Emirates deployed FDI - the pre-built content and data pipelines made it quick to launch and roll out. Evolution is rapid: Emirates reviews new features every quarter and enables them on their schedule, without requiring new projects every time. Next, they launched several dashboards, some for people managers, helping track performance, compliance, diversity, payroll, and more; and others for their HR business partners. Adoption is high, and every manager has access to the dashboards, all the way to the CEO and the executive team.

The results

New insights are more rapidly available. For example, a new absence dashboard showed that employees were taking leave on Mondays or Fridays to combine it with the weekends. Using AI, they were able to dissect the data for customer service teams to see if there were operational issues on those days, without significant effort to tune and finalize the data structures.  Cross-functional insights were hard to get before but are accessible now, making it easier to identify and fix business process issues.

Access to data has fueled greater curiosity and a new practice of self-service analysis. Employees are now able to do self-service analysis, reducing significant effort in report building and fueling curiosity and creativity. All managers have access to new FDI dashboards.

Disruptive Factor

Emirates NBD challenged the traditional HR analytics model by transforming Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence from a standard BI tool into a dynamic, visual self-service analytics layer for HR. The disruptive shift eliminated siloed data and costly integrations, enabling every manager up to the CEO to explore insights independently. This cultural shift toward data literacy and real-time insight not only simplified operations but also fostered a new mindset of curiosity, agility, and innovation across the organization.

Shining Moment

What Emirates NBD is most proud of is the cultural transformation sparked by giving every manager—from team leads to the CEO—direct access to intuitive, real-time insights. This empowerment has not only accelerated decision-making but also ignited a company-wide shift toward data-driven thinking and self-service curiosity that continues to evolve organically.
