The Problem

Netic supports a large range of business-critical systems for its customers, and its performance depends heavily on the latency and throughput of their storage systems. With this in mind, they realized they needed to build a storage architecture that would meet all of their performance, availability, and security requirements to best serve their customers.

The Solution

Netic’s primary storage partner, Hitachi Vantara, has been helping them improve their storage strategy since 2009 – taking advantage of new technologies to meet their evolving business needs. Netic has built their latest generation of private cloud on Hitachi Vantara’s storage solutions, with all-NVMe storage that delivers consistent and predictable low-latency performance for varying workloads and I/O profiles. With this building block for their storage architecture, Netic is able to improve security and scalability of each customer’s system.

The results

With Hitachi Vantara’s enterprise-class features, Netic can create storage clusters that replicate data between multiple data centers, preventing business disruption and enabling disaster recovery. Netic is also able to provide their clients with high-performing and cost-effective object storage. Although their storage estate is extensive, Hitachi solutions provide a single view across their storage arrays, alongside automated tools for provisioning and management, improving their ability to best support their customers' business critical systems.

  • In 10+ years of using Hitachi storage systems, Netic has only experienced two storage controller failures – with no impact on application availability or performance

This project changes the game for Netic’s customer service capabilities as they relate to storage infrastructure. From the ability to update systems without taking them offline or needing a scheduled maintenance window, to improving security and disaster recovery in customer systems, and even simplifying management to streamline insights and services.
