The Problem
GE HealthCare needed a better business intelligence (BI) solution. Although the organization already used several BI tools, the limitations of those options meant its people still struggled to share and leverage real-time data.
Before adding Domo to GE HealthCare’s BI portfolio, dashboards could take months to build. None of the organization’s prior tools promoted a self-service model that allowed users to easily create visualizations, share data, and support drillable transactional level commentary. This was a constant source of internal frustration and placed high demands on the technology team.

The company teamed with Domo, one of the most trusted names in modern data and analytics, to create a solution that improved speed to market of visualizations, promoted a self-service model, democratized data and provided users with a single source of truth that enabled people to quickly share data and reports on a global scale for mass consumption.
Through Domo’s self-service solution, GE HealthCare’s technology team leveraged and created certified datasets for Domo card builders and made them available to all.
The results
The impact was transformational from a lean process perspective, easily stitching data sets together and allowing Domo to help drive Operating Review meetings. Domo drastically reduced reliance on IT and allowed the entire global team to control their own data, uncover inconsistent processes, force data hygiene and deliver data transparency for all levels of the organization.
With real time data for some sources, GE Healthcare relies heavily on alerts to help users know when specific metrics are reached, data has had a material change, or there was an interfaced failure without having to constantly monitor thousands of cards. By focusing on this single source of truth, multiple regular operational meetings moved from using laborious PowerPoint presentations to using live Domo cards.
Thanks to Domo, GE HealthCare can now quickly share data and reports on a global scale for mass consumption. Domo has boosted productivity across the organization by replacing manual manipulation of data, many excel spreadsheets and manual processes, while providing the data executives, managers and individual contributors the much needed analytics/financials to make solid decisions.

With Domo's self-service solution, GE HealthCare users are enabled to quickly and efficiently access the core financial data sources when they need it and only engage the technology team when new certified data sets are requested or new tools are introduced to the GE HealthCare ecosystem.
GE HealthCare employees use Domo to stitch various data sources together, helping them be more proactive in making decisions, provide accurate forecasting and track real-time KPIs. This live visibility to data forced the team to embrace greater levels of hygiene, and fix data when it appears to be wrong.
More than 4,500 GE Healthcare employees across the global organization rely on Domo as a primary BI tool. Executives are also highly engaged; they receive custom emails with the data they need to start their days, without the team having to manually create and send full reports.
In addition to saving the company many hours of non-value added work, GE HealthCare decreased its additional dashboard technology spend since implementing Domo. Domo’s self-service platform gave GE HealthCare the ability to scale its user group significantly without adding extra work to the team overseeing adoption and guidance.
