The Problem
pMassMutual is one of Salesforce’s largest customers and was struggling with the complexity of their enterprise implementation. MassMutal had no formal devops delivery strategy built into Salesforce and became bogged down in managing the many phases of Salesforce development . As Salesforce as their repository for Dev, quality assurance, pre-production, MassMutual needed a way to best deliver a DevOps solution for their growing team./p p /p pWhile trying to keep up with their customers’ demand for innovation, they had grown their team from 30 developers to over 130 – a great achievement of exponential team growth for MassMutual – but a detriment to their devops solution. Even with this growth, MassMutual continued to experience a slow, painful and error riddled release process. They experienced a constant fear of overwrites as their team grew, with the headache of dealing with versioning saved locally./pThe Solution
pWith a Salesforce cloud platform, MassMutual needed a DevOps delivery strategy that is natively integrated to Salesforce and specifically addresses the key DevOps inhibitors that slow down their go-live velocity. There are some very specific, almost proprietary, capabilities within Salesforce to address – and there is no structured release process built into the application. There are no development source repositories. There is no collaborative development tool, so administrators that work in one part of the platform are completely isolated or even in conflict with developers that work in other parts of that platform./p pWhen MassMutual was able to identify these barriers, the organization looked for a solution that addresses these needs for a modern DevOps delivery strategy for Salesforce specifically./p pMassMutual implemented Copado, a full end-to-end comprehensive DevOps suite and platform and process natively built into the Salesforce platform./pThe results
pWith Copado, MassMutual was able to implement an enterprise grade, effective and trustworthy DevOps process, which included implementing a single source of truth through Bitbucket, centralized versioning, code branch management, task delegation, traceability and real time monitoring. Ultimately, this resulted in a drastic increase in both their release deployment velocity and quality, thereby ensuring a much more innovative and higher caliber product is delivered into the hands of their customers. /p pCopado enables faster, error-free digital and cloud deployments and upgrades with continuous integration (CI) technologies and agile cloud release management, all via an enterprise-class developer platform fully integrated with Salesforce DX and Salesforce Clouds. /p pMassMutual saw Copado addressed many key needs: /p pMakes admins the unsung heroes of business transformation /p pDeploys innovation in a timely and systematic manner /p pScales to support the largest organizations in the Salesforce ecosystem /p pEnforces compliance rules for your business across metadata changes in real time/p pAllows your development teams to manage the release process from development all the way to production/p pMonitor your company’s compliance requirements in real time/p pMove finished business requirements significantly faster from Sandbox to Production/pMetrics
