The Problem

Prior to 2014 all reports were emailed to our field via static .pdf files.  The reports were the standard tabular format with too much information.  The users could not view the reports easily on their mobile devices.  Additionally the users could not easily identify issues requiring attention.

The Solution

Cash America implemented Roambi for the field.  Key metrics were identified that would provide the most value via the visualizations provided by the tool.  Our goal was to move users away from tabular reporting and present the data in the most efficient manner.

The results

This was a game changer for the field operations.   The now have the key metrics needed to perform there day to day on a clean and simple presentation layer.  Users can now start their day without the need to open multiple email and .pdf files.  Roambi has allowed the user to focus directly only on the the important metrics with a minimal amount of tapping through screens.

Metrics

Although I cannot provide specific metric, I can say that our users have become extremely dependent on Roambi as their primary day to day tool for insights into their shops, districts, and regions.   If we were to take it away, I'm sure we would find our users outside corporate headquarters with "pitchforks and torches"

The Technology

-Roambi for front end presentation

-PL SQL for backend data processing

Disruptive Factor

In the pawn space technology has been "lite" and somewhat antiquated. Users were very comfortable with what they had, i.e. reading static .pdf report via email.  Once they saw what was capable through Roambi on a mobile device they were hooked.  Adoption was instantaneous.  Moving from tabular reports to visualizations was very simple and straight forward for the users. Little or no training was required as the Roambi interface is intuitive as a mobile app should be.

Shining Moment

Although I was not present as Cash America at the time of release in Q4 for 2014, the response to the initial demonstrations how we were transforming field reporting was cheers and applause.
